What is implant dentistry?

Implant dentistry is dentistry that focuses on providing patients with a variety of different dental implants. Dental implants can take the form of small, screw-shaped titanium posts inserted into the jaw or metal plates inserted into the gum. Both of these methods have completely revolutionized the way missing teeth are replaced, making single-tooth replacements easier to tackle on their own and allowing multiple-tooth replacements to require less surgery. All of our implant procedures are made possible with our in-house CT scanner and computer-generated modeling system.

All-on-Four Implants

While it’s true that tooth loss becomes more and more common with age, that doesn’t mean it becomes any easier to deal with. Dentures can be uncomfortable, temporary solutions to a bigger problem. We offer our clients a convenient, long-lasting alternative with the all-on-four approach. This technique combines a series of four endosseous implants and a row of permanent dentures to give patients a beautiful, long-term solution to missing teeth.

Mini Implants

Mini implants, also referred to as transitional implants, are used to temporarily support and fill in empty spaces during more permanent implant treatments. These fixtures are never fully integrated into the jaw bone and are usually removed once the healing process of the original treatment is complete.

Immediate Implants

Immediate implants can be placed in the jaw and topped with a crown, all on the same day. The best part of these treatments is patients don’t have to go through an awkward waiting period without a tooth or teeth while they wait for their implants to heal. These implants fully integrate with the jaw, eventually becoming a permanent supportive fixture in the mouth.

Endosseous Implants

The most widely received implants, endosseous implants, are inserted directly into the jawbone, fusing with it over time. This type of implant can significantly help patients who are missing just one tooth or many teeth.

Subperiosteal Implants

These implants are used on patients who have extreme bone loss from years of using dentures. While endosseous implants fit into the jaw bone, subperiosteal implants are inserted above the jaw bone under the gum tissue. This type of implant can be completed in as little as three appointments, with only one surgery required.

Bone Grafting

This is an excellent treatment option for patients who have been told that they do not have enough bone for dental implants. If there isn’t enough jawbone space available to insert implants into, Dr. Jirik can use bone grafting. The doctor has been performing these procedures since 1990 and was even taught by the creator of the technique, Dr. Hilt O. Tatum.

Human Growth Factors

Some of the rejuvenating, healing human growth factors found in platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, can be extracted from a patient’s blood and administered in our office. PRP injections can drastically decrease a patient’s expected healing time and increase the likelihood of success in both bone and soft tissue grafting procedures. Doctor Jirik has been performing this unique technique since 1998 and has been a national lecturer on the procedure.

Cosmetic Denture

Cosmetic dentures can dramatically alter and improve an individual’s smile. When combined with dental implants, cosmetic dentures can drastically improve the smile and the face, improving facial support and making patients feel renewed and rejuvenated.
