For over two decades, our patients have enjoyed a good life with dental implants. Dental implants have become the gold standard for patients seeking the best replacement for one missing tooth or all their teeth.
Now, there are no excuses to avoid dental implant treatment. If you've been concerned about incisions, sutures, pain, discomfort, extended recovery times, or disruption of your schedule, then worry no more.
Gone is the old way; now, there is computer-guided implant placement, also known as CGIP. This is a powerful new technique utilizing a CT scan of the patient and innovative computer programs. CGIP allows Dr. Jirik to do virtual surgical planning and reconstruct your teeth prior to surgery.
Dr. Jirik can remotely place dental implants and dental restorations utilizing computer-generated surgical guides. The advantage to you is that it is a very short, accurate, safe, and minimally invasive surgery with reduced recovery time and fewer complications.
Dr. Jirik has placed and restored more than 5000 implants since 1989 for hundreds of patients. CGIP is the most impressive technological breakthrough we have witnessed in the field. CGIP is not a cheaper or compromised alternative to conventional implant placement and restoration. However, CGIP eliminates a procedure that used to take three months to one year with multiple surgeries. Now, there is one short surgery. Discomfort and swelling are a thing of the past. The patient can enjoy the immediate use of the dental implants and return to work and a normal routine shortly after treatment. Our clinic can provide most patients with a solution with only one surgery in one hour by Dr. Jirik alone.
The response to this new technique has been overwhelming. In 2000, we installed a dental CT scanner in our office, making us the first dental office in Arkansas to install this equipment. Having a dental CT scanner on-site allows our patients the convenience of immediate, accurate treatment planning during the initial consultation.
Diagnostic treatment scans are done in the office, and treatment is started without delay. The majority of dental work is now done in advance of the surgery by computer and in our dental lab. The advantages of the implant patient cannot be measured in terms of comfort, safety, convenience, and money. They are priceless.
Am I a candidate for a Teeth-in-a-day implant?
Nearly any healthy adult who wants to replace missing teeth can be a good candidate for computer-guided implant placement. This technique is designed to streamline the treatment process and make implants more accessible to those who may have less-than-ideal bone volume or structural issues. If you want your smile and optimal chewing function back, contact us to discover the many benefits of CGIP treatment.
How is the Teeth-in-a-day implant procedure performed?
This innovative restorative treatment is conducted in phases. First, patients have computer tomography imaging (CT scan) of their dental arches. Measurements of the jaw and teeth may also be taken. This guides the fabrication of new artificial teeth. Utilizing the CT images and a digital overlay, Dr. Jirik develops a surgical plan to insert dental implants into the exact location they need for optimal stabilization and function. The digital model that is created serves as a template for a 3D surgical guide that holds the implants in position during the insertion procedure.

What to expect during surgery
The surgical phase of CGIP treatment is conducted once new teeth have been fabricated. There is no need for incisions in the gums, and multiple stages of integration can take several months and two to three different procedures. During the procedure, the pre-made template is placed over the dental arch. Stabilization pins are inserted to guide the exact location of implants..
The implants are inserted into the jawbone using precise drill sleeves, and then artificial teeth are affixed to the implant posts. No incisions or sutures are needed. Using the CGIP technique, Dr. Jirik restores patients' smiles in about an hour using a local anesthetic. Full integration of the implants is expected to occur in 3 to 4 months.
Teeth in a Day Recovery
Because implant posts are accurately guided to their perfect location in the bone, patients enjoy a shorter, more comfortable recovery after their procedure. Some degree of minor soreness and swelling is to be expected. Patients may also have certain restrictions on what they can eat during the stage of osseointegration. Generally, patients feel well enough to return to work and most normal activities by the day after their procedure. The mild discomfort that may occur can be managed with over-the-counter medication.
Are CGIP implants painful?
Dental implant treatment is performed with a local anesthetic, just like what is used for dental fillings or other procedures. This medication quickly numbs the gum tissue and nerves around teeth, making the implant process expedient and comfortable. Patients should not feel pain during this incision-free procedure. They may feel pressure against the jaw, but this does not hurt.
Are CGIP implants safe?

Computer-guided implant placement is extremely safe and effective. Compared to traditional implant surgery, which has no surgical guide, this technique eliminates guesswork related to the depth and optimal location for each titanium post. Patients face fewer risks of complications and typically recover much more quickly.
CGIP vs. Traditional Implants
There is no difference in the type of implants used in computer-guided implant placement. Where these two procedures differ is in their technique. Traditional implant surgery is conducted based on X-ray evaluations and measurements of the jaw. Using CT technology and a fabricated surgical template, Dr. Jirik does not have to remember dental anatomy from previously viewed images. He has a physical surgical guide that is placed over the arch of the jaw, a surgical guide that was made using precise computer software. This difference in technique leads to significant benefits that enhance patient outcomes.
How much do CGIP implants cost?
Dental implant treatment is customized to each patient. Some receive single implants to hold crowns or a bridge. Some procedures are performed to replace a large number of teeth or all teeth after complete tooth loss. Our patients can expect to receive detailed information about their proposed treatment during their consultation. We are happy to provide a cost estimate and discuss options for insurance coverage and financing as needed to make a healthy new smile a reality.
